  • Exhibitions and First/Third Friday Roosevelt Row Hotbox Shipping Containers. Annually, Xico presents six onsite exhibitions and 12 pop-up exhibitions with interactive activities at the Roosevelt Row Hot Box Shipping Container Galleries during monthly First & Third Friday Art Walk. These exhibitions reach over 1,500 people monthly providing free access to Latinx and Indigenous arts. Openings provide an opportunity for free access to Latinx and Indigenous arts and feature a range of culturally relevant themes, artists, and mediums. Exhibiting artists share their inspiration, stories, and heritage, through which the audience may gain a greater understanding of cultural value and it's place within our community. We also offer exhibition opportunities on a virtual basis.

  • Say Yes to the Press (SYP) is Xico's mobile art program sharing the art of printmaking with under-served youth and families in Title I schools, community centers, and festivals reaching a new generation and audience. Activities include free workshops and classes offered at schools, community centers, and events which reach a new generation and audience throughout Arizona. In addition to printmaking, the curriculum for SYP includes painting, drawing, sculpture, and recycled art, which aides in the further development of cognitive and creative skills.

  • Printmaking Workshops provide an opportunity for artists to experiment with new methods while learning from Master Printers. Our in-house press allows artists to enhance their skills and produce quality art. During some workshops we may invite the community to observe, educating observers on this unique technique.

  • Professional Development Workshops provide artists an opportunity to gain business and marketing knowledge from professionals in the community. These workshops and lectures range from common skills for best practices to copyright infringement.

  • Xico also offers novice art classes, which include printmaking, paint nights, paper marbling, and pyrography. As part of this programming Xico presents an Indigenous Series: Exploring the Art of Native Craft, a series of 4-week classes that focus on Indigenous art forms such as Mexican Embroidery and Ndee Beading.

  • Xico has adapted its workshops for the Stay-A-Home Audience through our social media platforms. Our Roll With Xico program releases monthly tutorials in which local artists teach workshops to engage with the community from the comfort of their homes. Xico began releasing easy DIY printmaking activities via YouTube as a response to the global pandemic. Each tutorial offerers a unique experience with a focus on artistic processes for everyone. These tutorials are free, adaptable for all ages, and use accessible materials. To stay up to date with this programing subscribe to our newsletter under “Contact” and start crafting today!

  • The artist-in-residence program provides two artists with studio and exhibition space, annually at no cost. Artist in Residence Program enhances an artist's ability for professional growth and development by providing free dedicated work space. Residents are required to participate in printmaking workshops and instruct community workshops to gain leadership experience. Artists are encouraged to use this space for self-promotion, creating an opportunity for exposure and exhibition experience. Artists can focus on creating marketable artwork, and have the freedom to experiment with new mediums. This program allows the community additional access to experience local art and culture and allows the artist to engage a broader audience.
